They say, snow in the Straits of Mackinaw

We have spent the most amazing winters in the Straits of Mackinaw after purchasing Cobble Beach. I actually miss the "frozen" north. I know those of you that know my medical history and the fact that I am a true thru and thru FLORIDA girl, finde this hard to believe. The straits of Mackinaw stole my heart as a very young girl in the early 50's. God brought me together with my "soul mate " who also loved both Florida and the Straits of Mackinaw. You see, I had two dating rules from 16 years on to my marriage. "He
" must be born again, and he must be willing to retire to Florida. The whole Straits of Mackinaw thing just slipped in there. My dearest sweetheart met and exceeded both of thoes Pre-dateing requirments. Perhaps that is why we became engaged only 2 weeks after our first "date". Now 40 years,4 kids,4 bonus kids,9 grandchildren, and 6 homes later we finde ourselves still living a dream and MORE,Thank you Lord for many answered prayers.

On our own-Almost
We had our "send off" camp fire last night with guests from Mackinaw City and Michigan Indiana boarder. I say guests but if it weren't for my dear friend Denie and her son Daniel it never would have happened. We count on our kids doning all the work of building the fire, getting the food in order etc. But,I worked an 8+ hour day came in just in time for Denie and Daniel to "safe the day". Fun was had by all and out of town guests took off for the Crossings and the laser show later returning for those magical night time pictures of them in front of the Mackinac Bridge, seeing the red wings loose and up to the cozy apartment without their 4 daughters. Looks like the rain is past and it should be a lovley day on the Island for the Lilac Festival. Remember our Govenors summer home on Mackinac Island is open today and every wednesday from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM for tours FREE.
